Overview
Stop the Violence BC is a coalition of law enforcement officials, legal experts, medical and public health officials, and academic experts from universities across British Columbia. Coalition members came together to engage all British Columbians in a discussion aimed at developing and implementing cannabis policies that improve public health while reducing social harms, including violent crime.
Guided by the best available scientific evidence, Stop the Violence BC calls for cannabis to be governed by a strict regulatory framework aimed at limiting use while also starving organized crime of the profits they currently reap as a result of prohibition. Stop the Violence BC has been honoured to receive endorsements from former mayors of Vancouver, former BC attorneys general, the Health Officers Council of BC, and the Global Commission on Drug Policy.
